Bar & Restaurant Insurance in Myrtle Beach, SC

Liquor liability and general liability insurance for Myrtle Beach and Grand Strand bars, restaurants and beach venues, from a program already insuring businesses on the Strand.

The Grand Strand market

A Seasonal Market Needs Smarter Insurance

From Ocean Boulevard and Broadway at the Beach to North Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet and Little River, the Grand Strand runs on tourism. Summer crowds, late nights, live music and waterfront patios are what make the area’s bars and restaurants work.

They’re also what make them hard to insure. Many carriers price Grand Strand businesses as if every month were July, or decline late-night and entertainment venues outright. With South Carolina’s $1 million liquor liability requirement, that leaves many owners with few options.

South Carolina Bar and Tavern Association

Announced on the Strand

Partnered with the SC Bar & Tavern Association

In August 2026, the South Carolina Bar & Tavern Association held a press conference in Horry County, at Ricky’s Dockside in Little River, to announce its partnership with Ragnar Hospitality, expanding access to liquor liability coverage for bars, taverns and restaurants across the state. Today we insure businesses on the Grand Strand.

Insurance That Fits How the Strand Works

We underwrite the way your business actually runs, not the way a form assumes it does.

No closing-time restrictions

Late nights are part of the Grand Strand. We don’t put blanket limits on closing times; we look at how a late-night business manages security, ID checks and its crowd.

Live music and entertainment welcome

Bands, DJs, karaoke and beach-bar entertainment aren’t automatic declines with us. We look at the type of entertainment and how it’s managed.

We understand seasonality

Summer volume, seasonal staff and slower winters are normal here. We take the time to understand your year, not just your busiest weekend.

South Carolina law

What Grand Strand Operators Need to Know

Myrtle Beach businesses follow the same state rules as the rest of South Carolina under H.3430, which took effect January 1, 2026, and some hit beach businesses especially hard:

$1 million in liquor liability coverage if you serve alcohol on-premises after 5 p.m.

State-approved server training within 30 days of hire, which adds up fast when you staff up every spring.

An approved ID scanner at the door if you serve between midnight and 4 a.m., which covers many late-night bars along Ocean Boulevard.
